Hi Steve - just a quick email to say thank you for your patience and excellent teaching - I feel that I've overcome (mostly) one of my fears and can see myself enjoying being in the water at last.
Jane
Hi steve, amazing lesson - thoroughly enjoyed it.
Unfortunately I cannot fit another in next week as I hoped but would like to book a two hour lesson the following week.
Cheers Lee

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the lesson today, I cannot believe how much I seemed to learn with you. I think it would be good to keep the momentum - so thought maybe if you are free I could get a lesson next week - do you have any availability next Friday. I will try and get a couple of practice sessions in before then.   Thanks again - it is hard to realise how straight forward you have made it seem (so far). I am actually really looking forward to putting the lesson into practice.

Ruth

Hi Steve,

Firstly we would like to thanks you very much for our 1st swim lesson . We both came away on  a high as you got us to do things we never thought we would do. Again thank you for  you patience.

Kind Regards, Joanne

Hi Steve,
I just wanted to say thank you for yesterday's lesson, it was pretty amazing. I was very happy at the end of it with all the things I achieved , things that I never thought I would be able to do in my first lesson, like jumping onto the pool. I can't wait to go into a swimming pool now and I can't wait to book another lesson. I hope I won't forget all that I learned yesterday.
Thanks again Ana
Hi Steve,

I just wanted to say Thank you for your patience and confident manner in helping me to swim. I felt much better this week after our session.

I WILL STAY CONFIDENT in the deeper water but may have to pretend that your there pushing me to go further. I shall let you know how I get on in Spain.
I will miss seeing you next week, it was fun.

Hugs, Lynne

Steve,   Just to say thank you for today's coaching.  Speaking for myself, I hadn't realised just how much I needed it - I suppose that's what happens when you teach yourself and swim all the time with your head out of the water!

John also found it valuable, and actually enjoyed it, much to his surprise.

We will definitely want to book some more if you don't think we're a lost cause.  We're away for the weekend now, but will look out some dates when we get back and see how you're fixed.

Regards, Anne

Hello Steve

Thank you very much for the lesson on Sunday. I enjoyed it a lot and felt I made quite a bit of progress. Discovering I could put my head under the water and manage not to panic was a big deal for me! I'd like to book another session to go over what we did and maybe move forward a bit, if you have any time available. Another Sunday would be good if that's not inconvenient for you.

Thanks again. Regards Patricia Anderson

Hello Steve

Yes I would be interested thanks. I wondered if I could start around the third week of April? By coincidence I know Andy Buckle quite well and have envied his swimming ability for a while without knowing he'd been taught by you. Needless to say I don't need any more convincing! Can I call you in a week or so to firm things up?

Steve, thank you for finding the time to coach me despite your busy schedule.

I've been updating my progress file and I can't believe how much I learned in such a short amount of time.

- I can now jump in the deep end (even if my heart seems to jump out of my body before I even touch the water)

- I can do a sitting dive (my favourite)

- Vertical kicking, with and without hands

- I can rotate both on my back and front

- I can swim a whole length of the pool, alternating front and back crawl.

I really appreciated the fact that you taught me all the "survival basics" before moving on to actual swimming. I knew what I had to do whenever I did not feel "in control". This gave me greater confidence in fully committing myself to every phase of my learning.

There were a couple of things I really thought I couldn't do but your firm and gentle approach persuaded me otherwise. I'm glad you didn't listen to me!

So Mauritius here I come!

If you don't hear from me after Easter I must still be swimming somewhere in the Indian Ocean. There's nothing stopping me now!

Thanks again Steve, for your positive support and encouragements.

Regards

Angéline

Steve
Thanks for yesterday, it really wasn't scary and is just something that needs to be repeated to gain confidence.  Time flew and I didn't feel the normal fear to get out of the water.  My kids are chuffed and are planning a swimming session! So they send their thanks too.
Do you have any group lessons available, I feel that would maybe be the next step to plan.  If you do could you let me know prices etc.
Thanks again

Oh dear, I was rather hoping you would not get back to me!  I feel quite sick but really want to sort out this phobia.  I can start at any time, is there a waiting list?
I am available on Tuesdays between 10 am - 2pm, any evening or weekends.
No medication, have the odd problem with my back in my right hip and neck but it has never stopped me doing anything, due to, too much horse riding and general abuse!!
I can travel to most places, time allowing.  My nearest pools  are Watford, Hemel or St Albans but I can get to most places with a map.
Thanks for getting back to me so quick.  Could you let me have an indication of prices.

I am emailing with the hope that you can point me in the right direction.
I am a mother of 3 swimmers and a family that love swimming.  I have up until now always been the one holding the baby in the shallow end ( just the way I like it).  My youngest has just noticed I never swim and have a fear, he on the other hand loves the deep end etc.
I can paddle, just about swim a tiny bit but hate the deep end and  hate putting my head in the water.  Can you point me in the right direction.  I live in Croxley Green, near Watford.
Thanks in anticipation.  Before I chicken out again.

From: Angéline Steve, Thank you for these swimming lessons you gave me this week.  I have learned so much in such a short amount of time.

I was very apprehensive and nearly did not turn up for that first lesson! I’m really glad I did now!

I had been trying to learn to swim for the last 2 years.  I was at a point where I felt that I was not making any progress anymore and I was getting more and more frustrated.

I really don’t know where you found the patience to teach me, but each lesson I could feel that you believed in me and you gave me your very best.  You really managed to keep me focussed with your praises and encouragement and you did not mind adjusting your methods to suit my pace and my ability.

I actually enjoy the water now and feel more confident even in the deep end.

Big thank you again, I have a lot to practice on now and have decided to go swimming every week… starting this very evening would you believe!

Thanks Steve,

Angéline

Hi Steve,
Thanks for the session yesterday. I always knew it would be a big job to get me from an almost non-swimmer to an elegant front crawl, but the session we did has started me down the right track. The combination of your patience, and the way the skills are broken down into small units makes learning as easy as it could be for me. The fact that I can now feel relatively relaxed crossing the pool on my back, and even do some backstroke is a big deal for someone who has avoided the water for 36 years. I look forward to another session with you after a month or 2 of practice on my own.
Regards
Scott

Hi Steve
Just wanted to say a big thank you for the swimming lesson last week.  I made progress in leaps and bounds - going from a non-swimmer to being able to swim in just 3 hours!  I went swimming 2 days afterwards with my friend and she was gob-smacked and envious that I had achieved in 3 hours what has taken her 4 years of self-teaching to achieve!  Needless to say, she now wants some lessons with you to teach her proper techniques.

On the techniques note... as much as I remembered and was swimming, I think I forgot some as well and had to make a conscious effort to try and remember everything you'd said.  But I, (and my friend), really like the option of rolling onto the back to breath.. I used this quite a lot. However, I'm worried that I'll become lazy and get used to doing this too much, rather than learn how to tilt my head to the side to breath when doing the front crawl.   So, will definitely be booking more lessons soon.

Thanks again!
Regards

Hi Steve, just a quick note to say a very big big big thank you for the lessons we have just had with you.

The method of teaching and the results achieved were unbelievable. I am 38 years old and have learnt things over the last 4 days that I thought I would never, ever be able to do! I was a nervous non swimmer before, but now there is no stopping me!!! My two kids Peter (8) and David (7) have learnt so much from you, and the confidence they have gained in the water has made such a difference to their swimming. It is now an enjoyable family outing, rather than a chore. When the kids wanted to go swimming before, I would stay in the shallow end, attempting to look like I was having fun, but wishing every minute away and looking forward to getting out of the water. Now I can't wait to get in, and find the time goes far too quickly.

We would love to continue having lessons with you, perhaps on a weekly or fortnightly basis. Week days are generally quite busy for us , as the boys don't finish school until 4.30pm most day, and 4pm on a Wednesday. They have football training on a Saturday and Sunday morning, but afternoons are free. I know it doesn't leave much scope for fitting in lessons, but we would love to continue as we have all learnt so much over the last four days it would be a waste not to keep up with it. I will leave it with you to mull over and perhaps come back to me with what might suit you.

Once again, thanks for the last 4 days, it has been such an enjoyable experience for us all, and we definitely will enjoy swimming from now on.

Best regards

Barbara, Peter and David Abrams

Hello Steve,

I'd like to book another 2 hour lesson with you. Do you have any spaces on 3rd December? I found the last one hugely beneficial, and my partner didn't believe me when I told him I'd done a couple of lengths!

Best wishes,  Heather

Dear Steve

I've had 2 brilliant days - thanks so much for giving me the confidence to get on with it again
Really good to spend time with you again,

Erica
